On the Road with wine and frogs: June 2016 Roadtrip

Scroll down to content

Location: Calaveras County California

Through the town of Sonora and the drop in elevation to the valleys and hills that proceed. The area is not as lush here as the pass. The yellowish grass lingers displaying the nature of the drought that falls here. Vineyards are now beginning to pop up on either side of the road. We can’t stop here! This is wine country, known also as Angel’s Camp. California Interstate 49 and the home of Mark Twain’s famous frog jumping contest.
It is from here to California 16 that we Sacramento bound. There are more dry fields wishing they possessed the same  greenery as their Sierra counterparts. The sun is attempting to set, burning high eyes of all matters of skin and mind.
